Using Audacity to Remove Distortion

- First measure the overhead using Effects > Volume and Compression > Amplify note the number, that is the overhead


2.Add 5db of bass because of bass drop off from the mouth to the microphone
Effect > EQ and Filter > Bass and Treble > 5.0

3. Measure the overhead again

4. Subtract overhead 1 minus overhead 2

1.362

5. Amplify by the difference eg. -1.362 to get the original amplification overhead of the waveform.

Now we are back to the original overhead of the waveform

6. Normalized the entire track to -.1db to eliminate all clipping
7. Effect > Volume and Compression > Compressor > Fat Vocal

That’s all!
